At Hôtel Le Magnan, in the heart of Avignon, we are mindful of the environmental impact of our activities. We have gradually introduced equipment and practices intended to conserve natural resources, reduce consumption and limit waste.
This approach reflects our wish to combine a warm welcome and guest comfort with responsible management of the hotel.
Practical commitments every day
Our environmental approach is based on measures implemented across different aspects of hotel operations. From housekeeping to the management of our technical facilities, we favour solutions suited to our property and aim to improve our practices over time.
Conserving water
Water is a precious resource, particularly in a Mediterranean region such as Provence, where periods of drought can be common.
To limit water consumption, our hotel is fitted with water-saving devices. We also maintain our sanitary facilities regularly to help prevent leaks and unnecessary water use.
The changing of bathroom linen is part of this approach too. By encouraging guests to use towels thoughtfully, we aim to reduce the water and energy needed to wash them, while maintaining the standards of cleanliness and comfort expected at our hotel.
Managing energy consumption
Managing our energy use is an important part of our environmental approach.
Hôtel Le Magnan has heat pumps linked to occupancy sensors, helping adapt heating and air conditioning to whether spaces are in use. Programmable timers also help optimise the operation of certain equipment and avoid unnecessary running time. In addition, we favour energy-efficient LED lighting and pay attention to the day-to-day operation of our facilities.
These measures help us manage energy consumption while maintaining our guests’ thermal comfort.
Reducing and managing waste
Reducing waste starts with careful consideration of our working habits and the day-to-day running of the hotel.
We separate waste for recycling and aim to avoid unnecessary waste wherever possible.
We also favour digital correspondence and documents where appropriate, to reduce printing and paper use.
Finally, we pay particular attention to the lifespan of our equipment. Wherever possible, we prioritise maintenance and repair rather than routinely replacing items, as part of a more considered approach to consumption.
Choosing more environmentally considerate products
The cleaning products we use in our hotel are another part of our environmental approach.
In particular, we use Ecolabel-certified cleaning products, which meet environmental criteria defined at European level while providing a level of performance suited to hotel housekeeping.
This attention to everyday products is accompanied by an intention to limit disposable supplies and, wherever possible, choose reusable alternatives or products made from recycled materials.
Our aim is to meet the hotel’s hygiene and cleanliness requirements while using products and resources more responsibly.
A long-term approach
We believe environmental responsibility is not based on a single action, but on a set of decisions and good practices developed over time.
At our scale, we aim to improve the way we operate, maintain our equipment responsibly and consider environmental issues in our everyday decisions.
Without claiming to eliminate the environmental impact of our activities entirely, we are pursuing a pragmatic approach based on practical measures and continued attention to conserving resources.
